I grew up in a haunted farm house in Connecticut. None of us in the family ever saw a ghost, per se, but we saw the effects it had on house guests. On a number of occations, over the years, a perfectly normal situation would just all of a sudden dissolve into a visiting friend straight up going into a 'zone', shivering, then shuddering, then hyper-ventilating, before bursting into tears and needing to be physically removed from the premises so they could come out of it. Pretty freaky shit actually.
Over the years I've gathered bits and pieces and have since learned about my natural absent minded channeling ability. I thought it was just the creative process and a wicked sneaky way with humour. Nope. It's a fully evolved skill that was somehow honed in previous incarnations and manages to return through an awakening of the senses over time. Corny as this may sound, 'Ghost' and 'The Sixth Sense', are fairly accurate as far as being stuck between realms goes. From what I've gathered thus far, the spirit isn't contained in the body - the body is contained in the spirit. The middle ground is dream. We leave our bodies everynight in our sleep (provided you can relax enough to go that deep). And when we wake up - it's a little bit like going to jail for our spirit. This is kinda like the afterlife (or friggin hell) for our spirits. It's definately the hard part. People that are restless and fidgetty usually can't wait to get the fuck outta here, and on a certain level we all feel that way. But we also are well aware that there's no beating it or busting it, so there's no point losing our shit, cuz we'll just come back again with memories erased and an entirely different face, but pretty much exactly (energetically) where we let off. 'Groundhogs Day', actually does an ok job with that.
If anyone here thinks they're getting contacted by a dead relative, just entertain it as a possibility. No need to act overtly one way or another. It's a good idea to set ground rules. My personal set is; don't touch me, don't talk to me, don't show up as an apparition. It forces them to arrange the loose, unattended to, ends of reality into exacting attention getting coincidences. The best one was seeing a documentory on HBO that had my grand fathers full name, Marion Lee Dixon, in the first minute (though not in the same sentance), and then my name said a couple of minutes later. It was curious to me, because I turned the tube on just in time to catch the last 15 minutes of Ghost. What was hella freaky though is the movie it happened in was a documentary on the serial killer, Eileen Wharnous(not idea how it's spelled). Charlize Theron played her in the movie 'Monster'. The documentory, was actually a sequel to another documentory by a british film-maker. Marion is a federal penitentary in Illinios, Dixon is a county (where my family is from as it turns out), and Lee is the nickname one of her oldest friends uses when talking about her. My name comkes up because her brother used to have sex with her when she was little. It totally had an aweful lot to do with her becoming a man hater. It kicked a door open in me. It was bona fide communion and explained alot about an incident that occurred to me as a very little kid.
So - yes, it is possible to communicate with the dead, but what keeps them here is never very fun, and let me assure you - it ain't pretty. That said, if you're into it and up to it, the process isn't just theraputic..., it's straight up hygenic for your soul. Because once they have conveyed their unfinished business to you - they're good to go. It releases an energetic blockage that usually manifests as a disease, typically alchoholism, drug addiction and /or mental illness. Tending to stuck-ed family energy is essential to soulful living. I should write a fuckin book - i could go alot deeper into this topic, but most people don't have the stomach for it.

Re: Careful what you wish for....
Fri, August 1, 2008 - 12:26 PMI also grew up in CT & managed to completely ignore any 'paranormal activity' until I made a formal wish on my 27th birthday for "psychic awakening"....
yes, careful what you wish for!
<although, in no way am I "sorry" for the 'shift' which completely reworked my life>
"It forces them to arrange the loose, unattended to, ends of reality into exacting attention getting coincidences."
yes, I find this to be the most common way for messages to get through the veil, other than dreams
<I had a *delightful* visit with a deceased friend last night>
"Tending to stuck-ed family energy is essential to soulful living."
true, that!
love all-ways (especially the freaky ways),

Fri, August 1, 2008 - 8:20 PMGardner,
If you can write a book and get it published- do so. Those who cant stomach it can either not buy it OR buy it and burn it- which will help you anyway ;-). Seriously, it may be useful to others. May need a bit of editing to get rid of the profanities though :-). -

Re: Careful what you wish for....
Mon, August 11, 2008 - 9:10 PMMmmm..., potty mouth. My bad. Something to be said about the after-taste though! Hey, thanx for the feed back too. I'm going to disguise the wisdom as a fictional 'what-if' story that'll make it easy to entertain without all the heaviness of it's implications. i'm digging on graphic novels right now. Know any illustrators looking for fodder?
